The Creator Behind EcoPlate

Larissa conceived EcoPlate as a technology-driven response to the connected challenges of agricultural food loss, reduced vendor income and the rising cost of nutritious food for students. She developed the product concept and designed an integrated digital experience bringing together an agricultural marketplace, geo-local Njangi purchasing pools, AI-assisted freshness assessment, dynamic rescue pricing, MTN MoMo payment concepts, USSD accessibility and neighbourhood delivery coordination.

EcoPlate demonstrates Larissa’s ability to move from identifying a real problem to developing a structured, user-centred and presentation-ready digital solution.

About the EcoPlate Innovation

Meet Ndichung Larissa Kenneh, the software engineering student and multidisciplinary developer behind EcoPlate, an AgriTech food-rescue innovation for Cameroon.

Problem

Wholesale vendors across Cameroon routinely lose income when tomatoes, plantains, leafy greens and fruit soften before buyers arrive. Students and households, meanwhile, struggle with food prices — even as edible surplus goes to waste.

Mission

Connect surplus agricultural produce with community demand through intelligent pricing, shared purchasing and trusted neighbourhood pickup — turning food loss into wealth.

Vision

A Cameroon where every near-ripe crate finds a buyer before it spoils — starting in Buea and Douala, expanding to Yaoundé, Bamenda, Bafoussam and Limbe.

Core values

  • ● Freshness & food dignity
  • ● Affordability & inclusion
  • ● Vendor prosperity
  • ● Community collaboration (Njangi)
  • ● Transparent digital trust
